Karen Syzdek joined Sweet Magnolia Events, then Texas Hill Country Events, in May 2014 with more than twenty years of event planning experience. She began her event planning career in Houston where she worked for hotels and a country club coordinating weddings and various social events. She then moved into the corporate meeting industry overseeing the planning and coordination of telecommunications conferences and tradeshows. In 2001, Karen founded an event planning and association management company serving professional healthcare societies which she still manages today. In addition to her professional experience, Karen has developed, coordinated, and executed numerous nonprofit fundraisers and activities. She lives in Southwest Austin with her husband and her Maltipoo, Rigley, and enjoys reading, live music and theatre, and traveling.

Laura is committed and passionate to helping people. With several years of event planning experience, she is a connector who loves to bring people together. She specializes in personalizing diverse events for each client and handling stressful event situations with grace. Laura takes great satisfaction in seeing everyone happy and is always grateful for the opportunity to make this happen.

Laura, her husband and their children reside in the Texas Hill Country and enjoy staying active doing anything and everything outdoors.

Brooke is a Texas girl, born and raised. She takes great joy in learning peoples’ love stories and seeing them through to their big day. She knows the importance and strength in genuinely connecting with people, attention to detail, and excellent listening skills – she will never stop hustling to make dreams come true.

A creative spirit and adventurer at heart, Brooke worked for years as a teacher where she learned to balance discipline, structure, and imagination – she now applies those skills to every project she is privileged to be involved in. The goal is to never stop learning, beam positivity into everything she does, and to create joy & beauty in as many ways as possible.

McKayla is native to the Austin, Tx area. She has a passion for perfection and begins each event with attention to detail and focus on what the couple has expressed is of most importance to them. She has two years of planning experience and began working with Sweet Magnolia Events after they planned her big day. McKayla enjoys connecting with her clients and their families on a deep level. Finding joy in the “how we met” and of course the “first impression” stories from their family.

With many years in the corporate world behind her, McKayla prides herself in her attention to detail and organizational skills. She prospers in fast paced environments and has a gift for remembering the most minute detail.

Amanda, one of the newest members of our team and totally crazy about weddings! She brings the “calm and organized” to planning your events. Amanda has more than 20 years of experience in management and a lot of creative fortitude. She always shows up with a “can do” attitude and is queen of being one step ahead. She lives to serve! You will love her dedication to details and the professional manner in all she does. Amanda will be ready on the fly to step in for whatever comes up. She is hard-working and focused on you!
